Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Nailah Thorbourne, founder of Vlair.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, I spent years performing on some of the world's biggest stages as a multi-platinum recording artist. From international tours to performing at the Olympic Closing Ceremony alongside Major Lazer, fashion has always been an extension of my confidence and self-expression.

But after becoming a mother, I discovered something so many women experience: the shapewear on the market simply wasn't designed for the way women dress today. I loved modern silhouettes, asymmetrical designs, side cut-outs, plunging necklines, and statement pieces—but finding shapewear that offered support without compromising the look felt nearly impossible.

So I decided to create it.

Vlair was born from the belief that women shouldn't have to choose between feeling supported and expressing their personal style. I set out to design shapewear that works with fashion—not against it—giving women, especially busy moms, the confidence to wear the outfits they truly want.
